T20 World Cup trophy receives rousing welcome in Pakistan

T20 World Cup – The ICC T20 World Cup trophy arrived in Pakistan on Thursday and will visit a couple of cities during its stay here in the cricket-loving country. The trophy was presented in Islamabad and will also visit Lahore and Abbottabad. It was displayed in front of the National Assembly in Islamabad.

Cricket fans took selfies as the trophy was put on public display at the Pakistan Memorial in Islamabad.

The trophy will arrive at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Saturday when Pakistan plays the final T20I against New Zealand.

The trophy will be displayed during the match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The trophy tour was formally launched from New York last month. The ninth edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup will begin on June 1, 2024 and will be played in the USA and the West Indies.

This will be the first ICC event to be held in the United States and will be held at three venues: the new 34,000-seat Nassau County International Stadium in New York, the renovated Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas and Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill.

New York will host eight games, while the other two venues will host four games each. The West Indies, co-hosts of the event, will have matches in iconic venues such as Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines &Trinidad and Tobago.

The trophy will reach 15 countries on four continents.

In addition to these 15 countries, the trophy will also visit emerging American cricket countries such as Argentina, Brazil & Canada to attract new fans to the sport.
