Chicken prices rise – Poultry meat prices have increased in Lahore and across Punjab, adding financial pressure on people already battling inflation.
In late April and early May, the price of chicken was Rs 400 per kg, but within weeks it shot up to between Rs 120 and Rs 150. Retailers in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad are ignoring the prices set by the government and selling chicken at much higher prices.

Officially, 1 kg of chicken should cost Rs 438, but retailers charge between Rs 500 and Rs 550 without displaying the prices. Citizens, already burdened by rising utility bills and other essentials, are frustrated with the chicken mafia’s tactics.
They are calling on local authorities to intervene against these retailers who are exploiting the situation and overcharging consumers. Despite calls for action, merchants continue to demand inflated prices, leaving consumers feeling helpless.Chicken prices rise
