UAE visit visa – Overstaying, absconding visitors cause fines, penalties

UAE visit visa – Visit visa holders who overstay their welcome and violate rules cause travel agencies to incur fines and face operational challenges, travel executives have said.

Cases of visitors overstaying and absconding have forced authorities to implement stricter entry rules at Dubai airports, agencies say. When an absconding case is filed against a visitor, it creates financial & operational challenges for him.

“In addition, the charm of Dubai and the diverse attractions of the United Arab Emirates encourage visitors to extend their stay and explore without considering the legal repercussions,” Varghese added.

Another common reason for visitors to elope is seeking employment after being captivated by the Dubai lifestyle. “Visitors, captivated by Dubai’s opportunities, apply for jobs and wait for interview calls, neglecting their visa status. They often overstay their welcome to find employment, which puts them in a legal situation,” Firoz said.

Sudden financial complications can also play a critical role. “Some visitors face unexpected financial difficulties during their stay, making it difficult for them to return home on time,” said Libin Varghese of Rooh Travel and Tourism.

According to travel agents, these types of actions have serious consequences. “When a visitor fails to inform us after the expiration of their visa, the travel agency that facilitated their visa faces substantial fines and penalties,” Firoz said.
